The nearest hospital is around 20km away in Emmaus and the cost of the taxi fare to get there means that patients are often unable to seek medical advice when they need it.
We are lucky that a mobile clinic from Emmaus hospital visits Isibani every second and every fourth Monday of the month. On site rooms and the mobile vehicles provide facility for:
- Counselling & Testing for HIV/ Aids and TB
- Women’s health
- Children’s health
- Collection of HIV , TB and other regular medications.
Any required referrals are then sent to Emmaus hospital.
Due to the large number of patients collecting medication from Isibani, the clinic also comes on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, on these days they don’t offer the full range of services but do hand out ARV and other chronic medications.
