My name is Anne Diessner, I am 19 years old and I come from Cologne, Germany. After finishing school in 2013, I decided to spend one year in South Africa to help in a community project. With the support of the German organization FSD and my sponsors, I could come to Isibani in August 2013 .
I help with different projects: Mainly, I am responsible for the Baby Day Care/Crèche. That includes teaching lessons in the morning as well as administration work. I really enjoy working with the children and it’s great to see how they make improvements. Moreover, I work in the Charity Shop with the distribution and help with CP & Special Needs Days. This new homepage is another project I am part of.
Isibani is a great place to work because you can realize your own ideas, the team is awesome and the work is varied. It is a wonderful opportunity for me to be here and I have already learned such a lot. I hope I could give back a bit of what I have received in the last months.
My wish for Isibani is a motivated team that works to serve the community, tries to improve the existing projects and creates new ones. I think we’re already going in the right direction.
